Biz yıllardır reflü hastalığıyla yaşıyoruz ve protonponpo inkürü denen asit düşürücü ilaçları içiyoruz. Bu ilaçlar tehlikeli mi? Ya da yan etkileri var mı? Çünkü zaman zaman gazetede, medyada bu konuda haberler çıkmakta. Ve hastalar bu konuda büyük endişeye kapılmakta. Bugün bilim dünyası ürettiği bilgiler geldiğimiz noktayı yani bu asit düşürücü ilaçlar açısından özetlemek gerekir ise ana problem bazı hastalıklar mideye ait özellikle mideden yemek borusuna kaçma hastalığı olan reflü hastalığının bir kısmında özellikle kapak açıklığı ya da mide fıtığı olan insanlarda bu asit düşürücü ilaçlar dolaylı tedavi sağlamakta. Yani siz asit düşürücü ilaç kullandığınız sürece midenin asidi yok olmakta ve bu asit yukarı kaçmamakta, kaçmadığı için de hastanın şikayetleri olmamakta. Tüm hastalığı olan insanların yaklaşık yüzde otuzunun hayat boyu bu ilacı ölünceye kadar kullanması gerekiyor. Çünkü ilaçları kestiği takdirde şikayetleri tekrar başlıyor. Sorun da buradan çıkıyor.
